Sapna Aiyer is an Assistant Directing Attorney at Lone Star Legal Aid in Houston, TX. Lone Star Legal Aid represents qualifying low income clients in a full range of civil matters at no cost. Ms. Aiyer began her work at LSLA in 2007, working on disaster cases resulting from hurricanes Rita and Katrina. Ms. Aiyer’s areas of focus include bankruptcy Chapters 7 and 13, debt collection, mortgage foreclosure, and disaster work. She has represented clients after major disasters in the Houston area, including Hurricanes Rita, Katrina, and Ike, the May 2016 tax day floods, and Hurricane Harvey. Sapna was a scholarship recipient of the Blackshear Fellowship for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges and has presented at numerous CLE events on the topics of Bankruptcy and Disaster Law, including at the National Consumer Law Center in 2018 after Hurricane Harvey.
