Judge Ferguson retired from the full-time bench in December 2024, at the conclusion of his 3rd term in office, and now serves as a special/private judge and arbitrator in civil and family law cases statewide. He serves on the Texas Children's Commission, the Access to Justice Commission (as a commissioner and executive officer), the SBOT Court Rules Committee (and as chair of the trial subcommittee), and Texas Family Law Council (and as co-chair of the Judiciary Committee), the JCIT, and many other volunteer leadership positions.
